URGENT UPDATE: Police have just executed two simultaneous drug raids in Gwynedd, leading to significant seizures of controlled substances. The operations, conducted by North Wales Police (NWP), took place in Pwllheli and Tremadog on the morning and evening of December 17.
Officers equipped with Enforcer battering rams forced their way into properties, responding to rising concerns over drug misuse in the community. The first raid occurred at approximately 9:00 AM at a residence on Ffordd Mela in Pwllheli, where Police Sergeant Williams and his team executed a Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Warrant. They discovered a quantity of controlled substances, prompting an ongoing investigation.
Later that evening, a second team, led by Police Sergeant Atkinson, raided a property on Isgraig in Tremadog. Although the occupant was not present, officers seized items linked to drug misuse. This raid underscores the NWP’s commitment to tackling the illegal drug trade in the area.
Inspector Iwan Jones of the NWP Gwynedd South policing team expressed gratitude to the community for their cooperation, stating, “Together, we can prevent the harm that controlled substances cause.” He urged residents to report any suspicious activity, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in combating drug-related issues.
Authorities confirm that both investigations are ongoing, and they encourage anyone with relevant information to reach out via 101, Crimestoppers, or the force’s online reporting service. The NWP’s proactive measures reflect a growing urgency to address the challenges posed by both legal and illegal controlled substances in the region.
As the situation develops, residents are advised to remain vigilant and report any further suspicious activity. The NWP’s commitment to public safety underscores the impact of community collaboration in tackling drug-related crimes.
