YouTuber George Clarke has expressed his thoughts following his participation in the 2025 season of Strictly Come Dancing, where he did not secure the coveted title. The grand finale, which took place this past weekend, featured Clarke alongside fellow finalists Karen Carney and Amber Davies, each performing three dances in hopes of winning the iconic Glitterball trophy. Ultimately, it was Carney and her professional partner Carlos Gu who emerged victorious.
In a heartfelt statement released on December 21, 2025, Clarke reflected on his transformative experience throughout the competition. He noted that the conclusion of the series was “a lot to process,” admitting, “The journey is done and that’s hard to come to terms with.” He described his time on the show as “a hell of an experience,” highlighting the personal growth he achieved.
Clarke expressed gratitude towards his dance partner Alexis, a recent addition to the BBC program, stating, “Your pro is 99% of your process and I’ve had the best and most formative four months of my life.” He acknowledged Alexis’s significant impact, saying, “She helped me discover some belief in myself, something that has really shaped me as a person not just as a dancer.”
During the finale, Clarke and Alexis performed a series of captivating dances, including a Paso Doble to “Game of Survival” by Ruelle and a Viennese Waltz to “Somebody to Love” by Queen. Their show dance, set to “Human” by The Killers, received a perfect score of 39 from the judges, tying them with Carney and Gu while placing them just one point behind the runners-up, Davies and her partner Nikita Kuzmin.
Reflecting on his final performances, Clarke remarked, “I ended the night doing three wildly different dances, none of which I would’ve had a chance in hell at doing at the start of the competition.” He emphasized the joy he found in dancing, something he never anticipated, stating, “I genuinely loved performing them.”
Clarke characterized his experience on Strictly Come Dancing as “uplifting and positive,” calling it a “breath of fresh air” in his life. He remarked, “I’ve learned a lot about dancing, I’ve learned a lot about myself, and it’s something I’ll never forget.” He acknowledged the personal journeys of all contestants, expressing pride in Carney’s triumph, whom he described as “an impressive woman on and off the dance floor.”
Looking ahead, Clarke shared his aspirations to continue dancing in some form, stating, “I hope that I can continue dancing in some capacity because in my ways I don’t feel like I’m done… my body, however, will be on standby until 2026.”
