Teen Boys, 14 and 17, Arrested for 40+ Car Break-Ins

BREAKING NEWS: Two teenage boys, aged 14 and 17, have been arrested in connection with a shocking spree of car break-ins affecting more than 40 vehicles over the past month in Kent. These arrests were made on December 17 after an extensive investigation into the incidents that took place between November 18 and December 17.

Motorists in Herne Bay and Whitstable reported that their cars and vans were targeted, with thieves rummaging through personal belongings and stealing items including cash, cards, and electronics. The areas affected include Carlton Hill, Sea View Road, Riley Avenue, Grimshill Road, Seafield Road, and Thistle Drive.

Inspector Dan Fordom of Kent Police stated, “Theft from motor vehicles is often an opportunistic crime. While my officers are investigating the recent reports, I urge motorists to take steps to protect their property.” He emphasized the importance of removing all valuables from vehicles, ensuring doors are locked, and windows are fully closed.

Residents are reminded to park in well-lit areas and to secure items in garages whenever possible. “Also, remember to remove any suction marks left by electronic devices from windscreens or dashboards,” Fordom added.

Authorities are calling for anyone with information regarding these incidents to come forward. If you have any leads, contact Kent Police at 01843 222289 and quote reference number 46/212451/25.

This alarming trend of vehicle break-ins has raised concerns among local residents, who are now more vigilant about their vehicle safety. As investigations continue, community members are urged to remain alert and report any suspicious activity.
