Aldi has announced a significant alteration to its Specialbuys schedule, impacting all its stores across the UK during the upcoming holiday period. The change comes in response to bank holidays and store closures that will disrupt the usual twice-weekly product launches in the popular middle aisle.
Typically, Aldi introduces new products every Thursday and Sunday, but the festive season will see this routine temporarily adjusted. As confirmed by an Aldi spokesperson, no new Specialbuys will be available on Thursday, December 25, 2024, as stores will be closed for Christmas Day. The next release will occur on Sunday, December 28, 2024, marking the first post-Christmas selection.
Impact of Holiday Closures on Shopping Schedule
The adjustments to the schedule will continue into the New Year. New Year’s Day, which also falls on a Thursday, will result in another shift. “For the following week, Specialbuys will be released on Friday, January 2, 2025, and Sunday, January 4, 2025,” the spokesperson added. After this period, customers can expect the middle aisle to return to its regular schedule starting on Sunday, January 4, 2025.
This holiday season, Aldi’s Specialbuy offerings are tailored to help customers start the New Year with a fresh and organised approach. The selection for December 28 will include items such as a three-tier rattan set of drawers priced at £9.99 and antibacterial Dettol surface cleansing wipes for £2.69. Shoppers are encouraged to check Aldi’s official website for planned releases and any further updates.
Store Hours During the Festive Period
In preparation for the holidays, Aldi will adjust its store hours as follows: on Christmas Eve, stores will operate from 7:00 to 18:00, before closing for both Christmas Day and Boxing Day. The stores will reopen on New Year’s Eve from 8:00 to 18:00, then close again for New Year’s Day.
This temporary change in the Specialbuys schedule highlights Aldi’s commitment to customer service and adapting to holiday traditions while maintaining its popular product offerings.
