Teyana Taylor and Aaron Pierre Reportedly End Relationship

Reports indicate that singer-actress Teyana Taylor and actor Aaron Pierre have ended their romantic relationship. According to information from Page Six, the couple, who began dating in early 2025 after meeting at the Fifteen Percent Pledge Gala in Los Angeles, have decided to part ways. The specific reasons for the breakup remain undisclosed, and no details have emerged regarding the exact timing of their separation.

The relationship garnered attention not only for its public appearances but also for its creative collaborations. Following their initial meeting at the gala, Taylor and Pierre were seen together at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in March. Pierre featured prominently in Taylor’s visual album Escape Room, which included an intimate on-screen moment between the two. Their relationship became official on social media in June when Taylor shared celebratory posts for Pierre’s birthday. The couple also attended the BET Awards in Los Angeles that same month.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Taylor chose to describe their bond without a specific label, referring to it as a “safe space.” She expressed, “That’s my apple pie, and we are each other’s safe space.” During a light-hearted segment in a Vanity Fair lie detector test with Kim Kardashian, Taylor was asked about calling Pierre “Mufasa,” a nod to his character in the 2024 animated film. She clarified, “I never called him ‘Mufasa’ in the bedroom, but yeah, we do make Mufasa jokes.”

Taylor’s past relationship with Iman Shumpert, an NBA player, lasted from their marriage in October 2016 until their separation in 2023, with their divorce finalized in 2024. They have two children together. In contrast, little is publicly known about Pierre’s previous relationships, although a feature in People Magazine noted that he has a son from a prior relationship, with the mother’s identity remaining private.

Despite the end of their relationship, both Taylor and Pierre have experienced significant professional achievements this year. Taylor’s album Escape Room received a nomination for a Grammy Award for Best R&B Album, marking her first recognition from the esteemed awards. She expressed her excitement, stating, “Everything is happening, everything I ever dreamed of. [It’s] one answered prayer after another.” Additionally, her performance in One Battle After Another earned her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress — Motion Picture at the Golden Globe Awards.

Pierre, too, has been recognized for his work, receiving an award for Outstanding Performance in an Original Film for his movie Rebel Ridge at the Gotham Television Awards.

As of now, neither Taylor nor Pierre has publicly confirmed the breakup. The conclusion of their relationship marks a notable end to a year filled with personal and professional milestones for both individuals.
