Dell has officially reintroduced its iconic XPS line of laptops, now upgraded and redesigned to meet the demands of modern consumers. At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2026 in Las Vegas, the company acknowledged its misstep from the previous year when it discontinued the XPS brand. Learning from feedback, Dell is committed to delivering a product that promises to be “better than ever.”
The refreshed XPS laptops, featuring the latest version of Windows 11, sport a striking new design that prominently displays the XPS name on the casing. Constructed from premium materials such as aluminium and durable Gorilla Glass 3, these laptops are not only visually appealing but also designed to withstand the rigors of travel. The new models, including the XPS 14 and the larger XPS 16, are now the thinnest laptops in Dell’s lineup, measuring just 14.6 mm in thickness.
Dell’s design team focused on enhancing user experience, resulting in a new keyboard that offers improved stability to minimize accidental presses, alongside a seamless glass touchpad that integrates smoothly with the overall aesthetic. These upgrades contribute to a lighter and slimmer profile, making the XPS line more portable than ever.
In terms of performance, the latest XPS models are powered by new Ultra processors from Intel, promising faster speeds and enhanced graphics capabilities. Dell has implemented a completely redesigned thermal system to efficiently manage heat, ensuring optimal performance during demanding tasks. One standout feature is the reengineered 4K webcam, which is the narrowest 8MP camera ever included in a Dell laptop, enhancing video conferencing quality significantly.
Battery life is another area where the new XPS laptops excel, equipped with 900ED (energy density) cells capable of sustaining over 27 hours of usage on a single charge. Additionally, the edge-to-edge touch displays, high-quality speakers featuring Dolby Atmos, and a variety of ports for accessories further enhance the user experience.
“Today at CES 2026, we unveiled the new Dell XPS 14 and Dell XPS 16. That’s right, the iconic XPS laptops that you know and love are here to stay,” said a Dell spokesperson at the event. “XPS has always been our benchmark for premium laptops. The new laptops are rebuilt from the ground up, delivering striking design, speedy performance, impressive displays, and exceptional battery life. All in a compact device, built to move with you.”
With these upgrades, Dell aims to reclaim its position in the competitive laptop market. The reintroduction of the XPS line signifies the company’s commitment to quality and innovation, appealing to both long-time fans and new customers alike. As consumers increasingly seek high-performance devices that combine aesthetics with functionality, the new XPS laptops appear well-equipped to meet these expectations.
