Busy Mum Cleans House at 2 AM to Maintain Order Before Work

A dedicated mother, known as Mimz, rises at 2 a.m. to ensure her home is immaculate before her workday begins. With a new job that requires her to be in the office three days a week, she has adopted this early cleaning routine to manage her household effectively. Mimz shares her experiences on TikTok, where she has garnered 24,000 followers.

In her recent video, she explains that she wakes up over five hours before she needs to leave for work at 7:30 a.m. This early start allows her to complete chores, meal prep, and even follow her skincare routine, including wearing a light therapy mask as she cleans. “It does feel crazy doing this in the middle of the night, but by the time my son wakes up and I start getting ready at five, it’s absolutely fine,” she said.

Mimz emphasizes the importance of routine, especially since she must drop her son off at breakfast club before heading to work. She prioritizes cleaning the kitchen and living room, stating, “The main focus is always the kitchen and the living room; it’s not really so much the bedrooms.” Her cleaning regimen includes scrubbing kitchen counters, deep cleaning oven trays, doing laundry, and wiping down surfaces.

To streamline her evenings, she also prepares dinner in advance. “This way I can just come home and put the water in the soup, and then I can just boil it, and it’s done,” she noted.

Mimz is not alone in her quest for a tidy home. Another influencer, Cara, a mother of five, has voiced her frustration with parents who use their children as an excuse for maintaining a dirty living environment. In a recent TikTok video, she challenged parents to take responsibility for their cleanliness.

“Stop using your children as an excuse to have a dirty home. I mean, messy, yes, but dirty is just unacceptable,” she declared. Cara acknowledged that while homes inevitably get messy due to children, there is a line that should not be crossed. “Yes, it gets messy because children are messy, but having animal poo smeared across your walls or a bathroom that hasn’t been cleaned in about five months is unacceptable,” she added.

While her remarks may seem harsh, Cara’s aim is to encourage parents to strive for cleanliness, even in the chaos of family life. She has seen numerous examples online of homes that are in disarray and feels compelled to speak out against them.

Both Mimz and Cara highlight the challenges of parenting while maintaining a clean home, but they also demonstrate that with dedication and a solid routine, it is possible to achieve a balance that works for families. As the conversation around cleanliness and parenting evolves online, it remains clear that many parents are seeking to redefine expectations in a modern context.
