Liverpool Police Make Multiple Arrests in Major Drug Bust

BREAKING: Multiple arrests have been made in Liverpool following a police operation that uncovered a significant stash of drugs and weapons. Merseyside Police executed raids in two areas, leading to the arrest of four men after they were spotted engaging in suspicious activities related to drug transactions.

On January 19, 2024, officers from the EVOLVE Everton-Vauxhall unit conducted plain-clothes patrols in Kirkdale after receiving crucial community intelligence about drug dealing in the area. A man was seen leaving a property acting suspiciously, prompting officers to arrest him. Inside the property, authorities discovered two additional men, one of whom had numerous wraps of suspected Class A drugs hidden in his underwear.

Following a thorough search, police seized a variety of illegal substances, including suspected Class B drugs (ketamine) and Class C drugs (pregabalin), alongside a substantial amount of cash. The arrested individuals, aged 44, 65, and 23, all from Kirkdale, face serious charges including possession with intent to supply and possession of criminal property. They have since been released under investigation as inquiries continue.

Just a day later, on January 20, police conducted another operation in Everton, where officers again observed a man engaging in a suspected drug deal near Breck Road. Upon entering the property, they recovered a large cache of suspected Class A drugs (cocaine and heroin), cannabis, nitrous oxide, cash, and offensive weapons. A 22-year-old man from Everton was subsequently arrested on similar charges.

Chief Inspector Andrew Fielding of the EVOLVE Everton-Vauxhall unit emphasized the serious threat posed by drugs and weapons to community safety, stating,

“Drugs activity and weapons bring real harm and risk into our communities… Our work in EVOLVE areas is about protecting residents, disrupting those who cause harm, and reassuring people that we are listening and taking action.”

These operations come as part of a broader initiative aimed at rebuilding communities affected by serious and organized crime. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding criminal activity to reach out through their social media channels or report anonymously via the charity Crimestoppers.

With drug-related incidents on the rise, this latest operation highlights the ongoing battle law enforcement faces in tackling substance abuse and related violence in Liverpool. The community’s involvement remains vital, as police continue to act on intelligence to ensure safer streets.
