A nine-month-old baby has tragically died following a dog attack at a residence in Rogiet, Wales. The incident occurred on the evening of March 3, 2024, prompting a significant emergency response from local authorities. Gwent Police received an alert shortly after 18:00, dispatching officers and paramedics to the scene.
Eyewitnesses reported a substantial emergency presence, with up to nine ambulances and numerous police vehicles, including an armed response unit. Sadly, the baby was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel.
The dog involved in the incident has been seized and removed from the property. John Davies, Chief Superintendent of Gwent Police, stated that an investigation is currently underway. He urged anyone with information related to the event to come forward.

The Welsh Ambulance Service confirmed that they were alerted to a medical emergency just after 18:00. Their statement revealed that the service dispatched one Cymru High Acuity Response Unit, an Advanced Paramedic Practitioner, a Duty Operations Manager, and one Emergency Ambulance. Crews were assisted by their Hazardous Area Response Team.
