Budućnost Secures Dominant Win Against Mega, 98-65

The basketball team Budućnost Voli claimed a decisive victory against Mega, winning 98-65 in the eighth round of Group B. This match took place in New Belgrade, contributing to Budućnost’s strong record of six wins and two losses across all competitions as they head into the international break.

Following the game, Budućnost’s head coach, Andrej Žakelj, praised his players for their performance. “When we woke up after a few minutes, I think we played a good game. I’m referring to our approach and concentration. This was a tough game to prepare for. Mega plays good basketball, but today we followed our plan, and what we did was truly commendable,” said Žakelj. He acknowledged the effort of Mega, which has had several strong performances this season.

Despite the loss, Mega’s head coach, Vule Avdalović, recognized the quality of Budućnost’s game. “It is clear that Budućnost deserved to win. In every segment of the game, they had a better performance than we did. Their team consists of good, experienced players who know how to compete at this level, especially in terms of defense and offense,” Avdalović noted. He added that Mega only managed to perform as expected in the initial part of the match, while Budućnost dominated the remainder.

The victory positions Budućnost well as they continue their campaign, while Mega now holds a record of two wins and five losses. As the league progresses, both teams will look to build on their experiences and adjust their strategies for future matches.
