Jack Osbourne has disclosed a surprising rule violation during his time on the reality show I’m A Celebrity. After being voted out alongside actress Lisa Riley, he admitted to smuggling a burner phone into the competition, allowing him to maintain contact with his family while others were cut off.
Contestants on I’m A Celebrity are required to surrender their mobile devices upon arrival to ensure fairness in the competition. This rule is in place to prevent them from receiving outside information about challenges or trials. Despite this, Osbourne cleverly disguised his secondary phone as his main device after producers confiscated his belongings. He explained that he managed to keep his real phone for personal use, stating, “I had work to do… I was calling Aree, I was calling my mum, I was calling the kids.”
Osbourne’s late arrival to the show’s filming in Australia due to flight delays allowed him to sidestep the usual restrictions. He revealed that he had given his family a secondary phone upon landing, which allowed him to stay connected throughout his time in the jungle.
The revelation comes shortly after Osbourne’s exit from the show, where he shared another piece of personal news: his wife, Aree Osbourne, is currently 28 weeks pregnant with their second child. This announcement holds special significance as it follows the loss of his father, Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away in July 2023. Jack reflected on this bittersweet time, describing the experience of expecting a child while grieving as “healing.” He noted, “It’s awesome… It’s very much taken energy out of the grieving side of things and parked in a bit more hopefulness.”
Prior to entering the jungle, Osbourne mentioned that he had been managing his grief by keeping himself busy. The support from his family has been crucial during this challenging period.
