Alex Scott Connects with I’m A Celeb Cast After Emotional Exit

Former footballer and television presenter Alex Scott FaceTimed her fellow contestants from I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! after missing the final show due to personal circumstances. The reunion took place in Australia as finalists Shona McGarty, Tom Read Wilson, and AngryGinge competed for the public vote, culminating in AngryGinge being crowned King of the Jungle.

Scott, 41, had to return home to support her girlfriend, Jess Glynne, whose mother, Alexandra Glynne, suffered a serious stroke. Jess was also unable to join the I’m A Celeb cast for the final, following her own early eviction from the show. On the evening of the finale, Alex shared a screenshot of her emotional call with her jungle mates, including Jack Osbourne, Martin Kemp, Eddie Kadi, and Kelly Brook. In her Instagram post, she expressed her disappointment, stating, “Gutted not to be with you all.”

Scott was the first contestant to be evicted this season. Following her exit, she reflected on her time in the jungle, stating, “I had such a good time… I’ve come out with a heart full of lessons and love.” She noted the special moments shared with her campmates and expressed a wish that more of their experiences had been shown on screen.

In her Instagram stories, Scott shared her desire to support Jess during a challenging time. She mentioned, “Time to catch up on some sleep and be back with my Jessica and be her rock in a time when she needs me most.”

The emotional weight of the situation nearly led Scott to withdraw from the series entirely after receiving the distressing news about Jess’s mother. She had initially feared that Jess’s absence at the jungle bridge indicated a worsening situation. Jess later confirmed online that she had remained in the UK to be with her family, as her mother required urgent brain surgery.

In a heartfelt message to The Sun on Sunday, Scott described the difficult decision to participate in the show, acknowledging the pressures of the situation. She stated, “It was a tough decision to come into the jungle, but Jess never wanted me to step away from not doing it.”

Jess Glynne, 36, also expressed her sentiments on social media, calling the past few weeks a “really serious, life-altering time for my family.” She reiterated her need to stay close to home, eagerly awaiting Alex’s return.

Before heading to Australia, Scott had contemplated withdrawing from the competition but decided to proceed, motivated by Jess’s encouragement. She concluded, “Jess was the one that wanted me to do this, so that’s why I wanted to go in and make her proud.”

As the season wraps up, the emotional bonds formed among the contestants remain strong, showcasing the personal sacrifices made in pursuit of reality television fame.
