Festival in Kolasin Celebrates Five Years of Music and Talent

The fifth annual festival dedicated to showcasing young musical talent concluded in Kolasin, Montenegro, with a captivating performance by renowned artist Damir Urban. This significant cultural event not only celebrated its five-year legacy but also highlighted the ongoing commitment to nurturing emerging artists in the region.

Organized by a pre-governmental organization focused on promoting young talents, the festival took place in collaboration with the Center for Culture Kolasin, the Municipality of Kolasin, and the Kolasin Tourist Organization. Support from the Ministry of Culture and Media of Montenegro further reinforced the festival’s importance, according to organizer Dražen Joković.

A key feature of this year’s festival was the Winter School for Talents, aimed at the most promising young guitarists from Montenegro. Participants had the opportunity to learn from distinguished educators, including Professor Aleksandar Hadži-Đorđević and Professor Srđan Tošić, both regular faculty members at the Faculty of Music Arts in Belgrade. The three-day educational program culminated in a final concert, where students showcased the skills they developed during this intensive training.

In addition to the educational components, the festival offered a rich concert program, starting with a performance by the notable Montenegrin guitar duo Bulatović–Nikčević, accompanied by percussionist Miloš Knežević. The event concluded with Damir Urban’s final concert, which left the audience with a powerful artistic message and a vibrant atmosphere.

The festival’s primary objectives include the promotion of young artists, the integration of education with concert practice, and the enhancement of Kolasin’s cultural offerings. This year’s diverse and high-quality musical content appealed to a wide audience, reflecting the festival’s commitment to artistic excellence and community engagement.

As Dražen Joković emphasized, the festival not only celebrates musical talent but also enriches the local cultural landscape, making Kolasin an important destination on Montenegro’s musical map.
