Liam Gallagher has officially acquired former footballer Tony Adams’ mansion in the Cotswolds for a reported £4.2 million. The Oasis frontman, 53, announced the purchase via social media, addressing his new neighbours with a light-hearted message.
In a post shared with his 3.7 million followers on X, Gallagher expressed his intention to blend in, stating, “To all the BEAUTIFUL people from the Cotswolds I come in peace. You won’t even know I’m there.” He emphasized his down-to-earth nature, contrasting himself with other celebrities who often seek the limelight.
Gallagher’s new residence, known as Dockem House, is nestled within five acres of picturesque countryside near Cirencester. The property, previously owned by the Arsenal legend Adams, boasts a range of luxurious amenities. These include a swimming pool, tennis courts, and stables, along with a separate two-bedroom cottage.
Local residents have reacted positively to Gallagher’s arrival. Jan Edmonds, a long-time resident who organizes community events, noted, “There is a certain air of excitement and anticipation.” She added that Gallagher is a well-known figure across generations, suggesting that the village is ready to welcome their new neighbour warmly.
According to a source cited by The Sun, Gallagher has a fondness for the countryside and sought a retreat following the extensive Oasis reunion tour. The singer also reportedly wanted ample outdoor space for his rescue dog, Buttons. “He loves hosting, so is looking forward to welcoming friends and family to the home,” the source said.
Adams, who has been in the public eye since his football career and his appearance on Strictly Come Dancing in 2022, decided to sell the property after owning it for over 20 years. He purchased the mansion for £2 million, indicating a substantial profit from the sale.
The estate agents described the main house as having “the perfect blend of elegance, comfort, and tranquility.” With its classic architecture and modern features, the interior includes versatile entertainment spaces, such as a cinema and games room adorned with Arsenal memorabilia, a pool table, and even a drum kit.
Upstairs, the master suite is complemented by a spacious dressing room and ensuite bathroom, alongside four additional bedrooms, one of which was previously used as an office by Adams.
In a notable change from his previous accommodations, Gallagher recently listed his Grade II-listed mansion near Stroud for £6 million. He had been renting the property with his fiancée, Debbie Gwyther, for an impressive £19,000 per month prior to the Oasis reunion tour.
As Gallagher begins this new chapter in the Cotswolds, he joins a community that has seen a variety of high-profile neighbours, including the likes of David and Victoria Beckham as well as Taylor Swift, who rented a property nearby during her UK tour.
With his characteristic charm and humor, Gallagher’s entry into the village promises to bring an exciting dynamic to this quiet corner of the countryside.
