Marnie Simpson Turns Christmas Decorating into Family Fun

Marnie Simpson, known for her role on the reality show Geordie Shore, has embraced the festive spirit this year by transforming Christmas decorating into a delightful family activity. Following the arrival of her first daughter, Kixee, earlier in 2023, Simpson sought to create memorable experiences for her family during the holiday season.

To achieve this, she turned to the online retailer Temu, seeking decorations that would capture the interest of her two sons, Rox (6 years old) and Oax (3 years old). Rather than traditional decorations, Marnie opted for DIY craft materials, encouraging her children to partake in the creative process.

Creating Unique Christmas Decorations Together

During a recent crafting session, the family transformed an ordinary day into a festive extravaganza. Marnie laid out a variety of materials, including artificial cedar wreaths, pine branches, berry stems, garlands, door hangers, and lights. She invited her sons to explore and choose their favorite pieces, allowing their imaginations to guide the decorating process.

The boys took charge, thoughtfully arranging berry stems and pinecones around branches to create their own wreaths. They threaded lights through the tree and added ribbons, glitter, and bows, resulting in a Christmas tree that reflected their unique personalities rather than a polished showroom look.

“The boys have absolutely loved it, and Casey and I really enjoyed it as well,” Marnie expressed. “They get so excited about making things — arts and crafts, anything that truly has their stamp on it.”

Embracing DIY Trends for a Festive Season

The trend of DIY Christmas decorating is gaining momentum across the UK, with a reported one-third of Britons opting for handmade touches to save money and create personalized decorations. Marnie joined this growing movement, admitting that she could not resist picking up additional festive items, including a Christmas countdown calendar, wooden Christmas hat and boot trays, and decorative festive letters.

Once the decorations were complete, the family concluded their crafting day by writing letters to Santa and enjoying festive snacks together. “We’ve had the most fabulous, wholesome day,” Marnie stated. “The boys loved making their own decorations, and I think this is definitely going to be a tradition in this house.”

As families like Marnie Simpson’s embrace the joy of DIY holiday preparations, they highlight the importance of creativity and togetherness during this festive season. The memories created through these simple activities may become cherished traditions for years to come.
