Mother Finds £15 Cream That Cured Baby’s Eczema in Days

A mother from Thanet, Shannon Baker, has shared her experience of how a £15 cream remarkably cleared her baby’s severe eczema within just days. Her daughter, Amelie Baker, suffered from painful rashes that led to bleeding and blistering due to excessive scratching. When Amelie was diagnosed with eczema, her mother felt desperate, having already tried numerous creams and treatments without success.

At only one year old, Amelie’s condition worsened despite removing cow’s milk from her diet due to an allergy. Shannon, 28, described the distressing situation, noting that Amelie’s skin was consistently dry, scaly, and often weepy. “It was incredibly bad on her torso and legs,” Shannon said. “Her skin would split and cut from her scratching, which would blister and turn red. Most nights, I could hear her scratching away, which disturbed her sleep.”

Shannon’s frustration was compounded by the fact that her son also began experiencing eczema issues at six weeks old. Although his condition improved with the use of various moisturisers and steroid ointments, he still faced occasional outbreaks. Shannon reported that many over-the-counter products caused burning sensations and further irritation on Amelie’s skin. After consulting with medical professionals, she was hesitant to pursue steroid creams due to concerns about their long-term effects.

After spending over £50 on treatments, Shannon received a jar of Balmonds cream from a friend in February 2025. Initially sceptical, she applied it to Amelie’s skin and was astonished at the results. “Within mere days, Amelie’s itching and inflammation vanished completely,” she recounted. “Her skin has come on leaps and bounds. After around four days, we started to see a drastic change.”

The Balmonds cream, which contains natural ingredients such as beeswax, hemp seed oil, and calendula, is now a crucial part of Amelie’s twice-daily skincare routine. Priced at £15 for a 50ml container, the family plans to purchase it regularly, as they consider it an essential remedy for managing her eczema effectively.

Shannon expressed relief not only for Amelie’s improved skin condition but also for the family’s overall well-being. “It’s worked wonders; not just for her skin, but for our mental health, too,” she said. “Our stress levels have balanced out, as we were worrying so much about her skin. And she’s now a happy and joyful little baby.”

The positive outcome of this experience highlights the importance of finding the right treatment for skin conditions in young children and offers hope to other parents facing similar challenges.
