Georgian National Arrested for Stealing €2,850 from Car in Bijelo Polje

A Georgian national has been arrested in Montenegro after allegedly stealing €2,850 from a parked vehicle in Bijelo Polje. The incident occurred shortly before the suspect, identified as T.P., attempted to leave the country.

According to the Regional Security Centre “North”, local law enforcement acted swiftly following reports of the theft. Officers from the Bijelo Polje Department of Security quickly identified the suspect and apprehended him shortly after the crime was reported.

The police statement revealed that T.P., 40 years old, capitalized on the owner’s moment of inattention to steal the cash from the vehicle. Following the theft, he attempted to escape Montenegro but was intercepted by police at the Dobrakovo border crossing.

In their communication, authorities emphasized the importance of timely measures to combat crime and enhance public safety. They stated, “Non-selective and prompt actions to address all forms of criminal activity will remain a focus for the officers at the Regional Security Centre ‘North’.” This commitment to maintaining personal and property security reflects ongoing efforts to enhance safety within the community.
