Jane Wade Debuts Adventurous FW26 Collection “The Summit”

Jane Wade has unveiled her latest collection for Fall/Winter 2026, titled “The Summit.” This new line marks a significant shift in Wade’s design philosophy, moving away from her traditional corporate aesthetic towards a more adventurous and versatile wardrobe. Wade’s intention is to create pieces that can be mixed and matched, catering to the dynamic lifestyles of her customers.

In a post-show interview, Wade explained, “The Jane Wade girl needs pieces that can be broken down and put back together in different ways. They need to serve her in all facets of her life as she expresses herself differently.” This collection embodies an escapist vision, inspired by Wade’s upbringing in the Pacific Northwest, particularly her hometown of Portland.

Collaboration with SOREL Reflects Regional Roots

Wade collaborated with footwear brand SOREL, also based in Portland, to create two new models showcased during the runway event. The SOREL x Jane Wade Callsign Horizon Low and SOREL x Jane Wade Callsign Mule Shroud were featured alongside the collection, presented by models styled as Ski Lift Operators and Mountain Patrolers. The partnership reflects a shared ethos of outdoor adventure and practicality, which Wade aims to embody in her clothing line.

The runway show took place in a Brooklyn warehouse transformed into an immersive mountain setting, complete with Douglas Fir trees and patches of moss and ivy. Wade expressed her desire to bring the essence of her Oregon home to the event, stating, “I wanted to bring everyone home, into my home.” Attendees were welcomed with Hydrojugs and were introduced to Gotham Goods’ new fragrance, “My Sweet Jane,” which features notes of smoked birch and oak moss.

Innovative Textures and Personal Touches

Wade’s collection goes beyond mere aesthetics; it represents a personal journey. The runway featured models with unique character roles, including one who played an “Avalanche Rescue” figure. Notably, Wade’s mother participated in the show, showcasing her connection to the fashion world. “My mom walked the show! She used to do fit modeling for Columbia Sportswear, which is Sorel’s parent company,” Wade shared.

The textures within the collection reflect Wade’s commitment to innovation. This season, she incorporated paracord into her designs, utilizing it in various elements such as pocketing and bungees. “We built all of those pieces in-house in our studio. It takes weeks and weeks to just make one of those, so it’s a lot of focus and dedication to the craft,” she noted.

Wade’s vision for “The Summit” aligns with an overarching theme in her work, focusing on a multifaceted woman seeking to explore different aspects of her identity. “There’s always an athletic layer to it, but it’s definitely shaped around someone who is very multi-faceted and transitional,” she explained.

The collection not only captures the spirit of adventure but also speaks to the modern woman’s need for versatility and adaptability in her wardrobe. For those interested in exploring Jane Wade’s latest designs, the collection can be viewed in the accompanying gallery.
