New Road Segment Completed: Slijepački Most to Berane Opens

A crucial new road segment connecting Slijepački Most to Berane has been successfully completed, according to Irfan Alomerović, an engineer with the construction company Bemax. The total length of the newly constructed road is 35 km, and it is designed to meet contemporary standards and regulations.

Alomerović highlighted the challenges faced during the project, which included a complete reconstruction of the road structure, tunnel refurbishment, and the renovation of seven bridges. Additionally, the project involved stormwater management and the stabilization of landslides and slopes.

Despite the difficult terrain and the need for extra work due to high traffic levels, the team managed to finish the project within the planned timeline. Alomerović stated, “Today we have a modern main road that complies with all standards and regulations.”

The completion of this road segment is expected to enhance connectivity in the region, facilitating transportation and boosting local economies. Alomerović expressed gratitude to all stakeholders involved in the project, including investors, supervisors, subcontractors, and the local community, who have shown understanding throughout the construction period.

He concluded by acknowledging the support of the citizens who recognized the importance of the project from the beginning, reaffirming the collaborative effort that made this achievement possible.
