Two Arrested in Niksic for Illegal Weapons Possession

Authorities in Niksic, Montenegro, apprehended two individuals early this morning in connection with illegal weapons possession. The first arrest occurred around 01:00 hours, when police stopped V.N., a 21-year-old known to law enforcement for previous criminal activities, near a local hospitality venue.

During the stop, officers discovered that V.N. was wearing a ballistic protective vest from the brand “Point Blank.” A subsequent search revealed a Czech Zbrojovka pistol, caliber 9 mm, along with ammunition, which he possessed illegally. The police confiscated both the firearm and the vest before taking V.N. to the Niksic Department of Security for further questioning.

According to the police statement, V.N. faces charges for the illegal possession and carrying of firearms and explosive materials, following an order from the state prosecutor’s office in Niksic. He will be transferred to the relevant prosecutor for further legal proceedings.

Additional Arrests and Ongoing Police Operations

In a separate operation, officers from the Intervention Unit stopped a Volkswagen Passat with Tivat registration, driven by M.T., a 31-year-old from Niksic. During the vehicle inspection, police discovered an automatic starter pistol from the brand Ekol, along with a magazine containing 11 rounds and two additional boxes with 77 rounds of ammunition. M.T. received a civil penalty for violating Article 27 of the Weapons Law.

Additionally, the Niksic police detained V.V., a 20-year-old also from Niksic, for operating a vehicle under the influence of psychoactive substances. He will face charges in a court specializing in misdemeanors.
