Buducnost Appoints Marko Martinovic as New Head Coach

Buducnost Podgorica has appointed Marko Martinovic as its new head coach, following the recent departure of Drasko Mrvaljevic. Martinovic, a former player for Lovcen, takes the reins of the team with a strong track record in both domestic and international handball.

Martinovic’s appointment comes after Mrvaljevic was released from his position approximately 20 days ago. The new coach has previously made significant contributions to the sport in the region, notably founding the Stars handball club in 2018, which has played a pivotal role in the development of women’s handball in Cetinje. Under his leadership, Stars qualified for the First League this year, marking a significant achievement for the club.

Proven Experience in International Competitions

In addition to his success with Stars, Martinovic has gained valuable experience coaching in Kuwait, where he led the men’s cadet national team to a third-place finish at the Asian Championship. This accomplishment not only showcased his coaching expertise but also secured a spot for the team at the upcoming World Championship.

As Buducnost Podgorica competes in the SBbet Prva Liga, they currently sit third on the league table. The team has accumulated four points and has one match in hand compared to Lovcen. Buducnost is tied with Budvanska Rivijera, which has played one fewer game, indicating a competitive league environment.

Martinovic’s experience and local knowledge are expected to enhance Buducnost’s performance as they aim to climb higher in the standings. The club’s management believes that his leadership will be instrumental in achieving their goals for the season.

Fans and players alike are eager to see how Martinovic will implement his strategies and whether he will lead Buducnost to further success in the league. With the new season underway, all eyes will be on the team as they adapt to this latest change in leadership.
