FK Budućnost Terminates Contracts with Strumija and Kadida

In a significant move, FK Budućnost has reached a mutual agreement to terminate contracts with players Lionel Strumija and Sadok Kadida. The decision comes after the club’s sporting sector concluded that the players’ performances did not meet the standards required for the first team.

Both players joined Budućnost over the summer as major signings, yet their time at the club fell short of expectations. Following discussions, Strumija, a 33-year-old from Argentina, and Kadida, a 21-year-old from Tunisia, agreed to a settlement that includes payment for three months’ salaries. They have bid farewell to their teammates as of November 29, 2025, officially ending their professional ties with the club.

Financial Impact and Management Changes

The club’s executive director, Predrag Kažić, detailed the timeline and rationale behind the departures. He noted that both players were brought in as significant reinforcements but that their contracts ultimately caused more harm than good to the team. “There was no transfer protocol in place, which has since been established, leading to a situation where their engagement was detrimental,” Kažić explained.

With the board’s approval, Kažić initiated negotiations for the contract terminations, focusing on both financial and legal aspects to ensure a resolution acceptable to the club. He stated that the termination would save Budućnost over €250,000.

Kažić emphasized the need for improved management and transparency moving forward. “We are analyzing all existing contracts signed under previous administrations and will soon begin to establish new agreements with players that protect both the club and the athletes,” he said. The goal is to avoid similar issues in the future by instituting clear procedures for professional contracts.

Looking Ahead

The club plans to ensure that all future contracts are transparent and in the best interest of both the players and the organization. Kažić reaffirmed Budućnost’s commitment to honoring its history and significance within Podgorica and Montenegro. He stated, “This administration is determined to ensure that all procedures are transparent and that no one is above the club.”

During their tenure, Strumija played in ten matches, while Kadida participated in friendly games but did not make an official debut. In closing, Kažić expressed gratitude to both players for their professionalism during their stay and wished them success in their future careers.
