Filip Ivanović, the Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro, concluded his official visit to Argentina with a ceremonial inauguration of the newly renovated Montenegrin embassy in Buenos Aires. The event, attended by numerous descendants of Montenegrin emigrants and representatives of the Montenegrin community in Argentina, highlighted the enduring ties between Montenegro and its diaspora.
The inauguration featured a reception organized by the Deputy Prime Minister’s office for Foreign and European Affairs. Descendants of Montenegrin emigrants from Buenos Aires and other regions, including the provinces of Chaco and Córdoba, gathered to celebrate this significant milestone. The strong turnout reaffirmed the deep connection of the Montenegrin community in Argentina to their homeland and their interest in strengthening relations with Montenegro.
In his address, Ivanović welcomed attendees and expressed gratitude for their commitment to preserving traditions and bonds with Montenegro. He emphasized that the new embassy should serve as an open and accessible space for gathering and collaboration. “Montenegro values the contributions of its emigrants and their descendants in enhancing friendly relations between our two countries,” he stated.
The ceremony featured remarks from Gordan Stojović, former ambassador of Montenegro to Argentina and now a member of the Assembly of Montenegro, as well as Miroslav Radojčić, the chargé d’affaires at the Montenegrin embassy. Both underscored the importance of maintaining continuous cooperation with the Montenegrin community in Argentina and the embassy’s active role in this process.
