Podgorica Woman Arrested for Attempted Murder of Partner

A 28-year-old woman from Podgorica, identified as V.O., has been arrested on suspicion of attempting to murder her partner with a knife. The incident occurred on October 5, 2023, in an apartment located in the Malo Brdo neighborhood.

Emergency services notified the Podgorica Security Department around 14:00 local time about a person with a stab wound in Gavra Vuković street. Police officers arrived at the scene, where they found the victim suffering from injuries caused by a sharp object. Upon further investigation, law enforcement collected numerous items and evidence, including a knife believed to be the weapon used in the attack. This evidence is set to be examined at the Forensic Centre.

The injured party was transported to the Clinical Centre of Montenegro for medical assistance and remains under care for further treatment. According to police reports, the altercation between V.O. and her partner escalated following a brief verbal dispute, leading to the stabbing incident around 13:30.

Following an order from the acting prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica, V.O. was taken into custody on charges of attempted murder. She is expected to be presented to the prosecutor for further proceedings within the legal timeframe. Authorities indicated that domestic violence preceded the stabbing incident, highlighting the serious nature of the situation.
