The match began with Primorac taking an early lead, scoring two quick goals to establish a strong position. Midway through the second quarter, they enjoyed a three-goal advantage at 6-3. However, momentum shifted dramatically as Red Star responded with a 4-0 run, intensifying the competition and keeping fans on the edge of their seats.
Primorac faced significant challenges throughout the match. They were forced to equalize three times, with scores of 7-7, 8-8, and 9-9. In the final quarter, goals from Marko Mršić and Đorđije Stanojević propelled Primorac to an 11-9 lead. Although Red Star managed to equalize, Radović reclaimed the lead for Primorac, followed by a crucial goal from Savo Ćetković with just over two minutes remaining, giving the visitors a 13-11 advantage. After the match, coach Marko Petković acknowledged the difficulties faced during the game. “We expected a tough fight for points in Belgrade, but we did not anticipate it being this challenging,” he stated. He noted that the team struggled against Red Star’s defensive tactics and admitted to weaknesses that allowed them to concede avoidable goals. “Nevertheless, the three points are what matter most for our Premier League campaign and our aspirations for the final four,” Petković added.
Individual performances were key to Primorac’s success. Đuro Radović was the standout player, scoring three goals, while both Marko Mršić and Savo Ćetković contributed two goals each. Other scorers included Jusuke Inaba, Luka Murišić, Stefan Vidović, Balša Vučković, Nikola Brkić, and Đorđije Stanojević, each adding to the team’s tally. Notably, Dimitrije Rističević made eight crucial saves, solidifying his role in the victory.
