The UK-based charity Crimestoppers has launched a groundbreaking campaign utilizing holographic advertising to promote its services and encourage the public to provide anonymous crime information. This innovative approach was unveiled at Westfield London from December 1 to 3, 2023, and aims to reach shoppers and commuters across the country.
The campaign, executed in partnership with Disturbed Media Group using their HyperGram holographic platform, emphasizes the importance of community involvement in crime prevention. The holographic displays serve as a call to action, encouraging individuals to either call Crimestoppers directly or fill out an online form to report crimes such as robbery, theft, violence, domestic abuse, and exploitation.
Following its debut at Westfield London, the holographic campaign has also been activated at Piccadilly Station in Manchester, with plans to extend to London’s Waterloo Station from December 10 to 12, 2023. This initiative represents a significant step in leveraging technology for public safety.
Kate Johnston, Crimestoppers’ Director of Business Development, expressed gratitude towards HyperGram for enabling the charity to reach a wider audience. Johnston remarked, “We are thankful to HyperGram, who have enabled us to reach more people than ever before.”
Meanwhile, Leo Jacobs, co-founder and director at Disturbed Media Group, highlighted the campaign’s impact. He stated, “It’s been fantastic to work with Crimestoppers to promote how anonymous tip-offs from the public help to keep communities and workplaces safe.”
Crimestoppers operates independently of the police and receives over 2,500 contacts from the public each day. The organization’s commitment to guaranteeing anonymity allows individuals who may otherwise remain silent to safely share vital information regarding criminal activities.
This innovative campaign highlights the growing intersection of technology and community safety, showcasing how cutting-edge methods can engage the public and foster a safer environment. By encouraging anonymous reporting, Crimestoppers aims to empower citizens to take an active role in the safety of their communities, ultimately contributing to crime reduction across the UK.
