Armed Man Arrested After Attempting Car Break-Ins in Crosby

UPDATE: A 39-year-old man has been arrested after attempting to break into cars on Blundellsands Road West in Crosby late Monday evening. Merseyside Police responded swiftly to reports of a suspicious individual seen trying door handles on parked vehicles around 9 PM on November 24.

The man, who is from Prescot, was found in possession of multiple bladed weapons, including a machete and several knives, along with an air pistol and bags of cannabis. Officers discovered a number of suspected stolen items during a search, including a mobile phone.

Detective Inspector Sara Lang emphasized the importance of community vigilance, stating, “Thanks to the swift response from officers, we were able to arrest a man at the scene after the incident was reported to us. I hope this shows our communities how seriously we take these reports.”

This incident highlights the ongoing issue of car-related crime in the area. Authorities urge anyone with information to report it immediately to aid in preventing future incidents.
