Louise Moss, 44, from Bramham, West Yorkshire, has pivoted from a 14-year career in banking to running her own waxing business, aptly named The Intimate Studio.
In 2017, after being made redundant from HSBC, Moss seized the opportunity to change her life. With her son just one year old, she sought a career that allowed her to balance work and family. “I took it as an opportunity to get away,” she stated.

Two years after establishing her business, Moss claims she now earns an “unbelievable” amount of money, surpassing her previous banking salary. “When people ask what I do, I say, ‘I rip out people’s pubes,’ but I really enjoy it,” she added. Her success has positioned her as a local celebrity, with clients often recognizing her in public spaces like supermarkets.
Moss’s approach to her work emphasizes body positivity and comfort. “I can make women feel comfortable even while they’re sitting there legs akimbo,” she remarked. She has developed a loyal client base, primarily consisting of women over 30, and she aims to create an inclusive environment for those who may feel nervous about waxing.
Looking ahead, Moss plans to expand her services to include a body positivity salon featuring waxing, body casting, and boudoir photography, further spreading her empowering message. “Waxing is for everybody,” she insists. “It doesn’t matter if you’ve had a few more cakes than someone else; if it’s something you want to do, then you should do it.”
