UPDATE: Exeter Cathedral is set to resonate with festive melodies as the beloved Christmas carol concerts return on December 16 and 17, starting at 7:30 PM. This annual event promises to lift spirits during the winter evenings, filling the historic space with joyful music and community spirit.
The Exeter Philharmonic Choir will delight audiences with a blend of traditional Christmas favorites, accompanied by renowned trumpeters Cameron Todd and Ross Brown, as well as solo soprano Katie Trethewey and organist Stephen Tanner. Concert-goers will not only enjoy the choir’s enchanting harmonies but will also participate by singing along to cherished carols, creating a heartwarming atmosphere of unity and joy.
This year’s concerts coincide with the popular Christmas Market on Cathedral Green, providing a perfect opportunity to kick off the festive season. Tickets are available now, priced at £23, £17, and £13, and can be purchased online or by calling 0333 666 3366.
In an inspiring gesture, the concerts will also support the Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF), with retiring collections on both evenings. Molly Southwood, Chief Executive of ELF, will be present as a guest speaker, sharing insights about the organization’s critical support for haematology patients and the dedicated NHS teams caring for those affected by leukaemia.
