URGENT UPDATE: LOT Polish Airlines has just announced a major expansion in its transatlantic network, launching non-stop flights from Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) to San Francisco International Airport (SFO) starting on May 6, 2026. This development will connect Poland directly to the heart of Northern California, with flights operating four times a week.
The new service will take off on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, offering travelers increased access to the “City by the Bay.” Flights will be operated by the state-of-the-art Boeing 787 Dreamliner, known for its comfort and efficiency. This route marks LOT Polish Airlines’ sixth destination in the United States, following major cities like Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, and Newark.
According to LOT’s statement released earlier today, flight LO37 will depart Warsaw at 17:40 on Wednesdays and Saturdays, returning as LO38 at 22:15 from San Francisco. Meanwhile, flights LO35 and LO36 will operate on Thursdays and Sundays, departing Warsaw at 11:15 and returning at 15:50.
“Transatlantic flights are of strategic importance for LOT Polish Airlines,” said Robert Ludera, Director of LOT’s Network Department. “This new route will connect the heart of Europe with the global hub for technology and innovation, opening up new opportunities for both business travelers and tourists.”
This exciting addition comes as LOT Polish Airlines reports over 800,000 passengers traveling between Poland and the U.S. in the last year. The airline aims to enhance connectivity and bolster tourism between these two vibrant regions.
Travelers can expect a premium experience onboard the Boeing 787, which will feature a three-class configuration. The 787-8 seats 252 passengers, including 18 business class flatbeds and 21 premium economy recliners, while the slightly larger 787-9 accommodates 294 passengers with enhanced business class capacity.
This new route not only strengthens LOT’s presence in the U.S. but also reflects growing demand for travel options linking Europe and California. Tickets are currently available for purchase through LOT’s official channels, with travelers encouraged to book early to secure their spots.
As LOT Polish Airlines prepares for this launch, travelers and industry experts alike are eager to see how this new connection will impact travel trends and foster closer ties between Poland and the United States. Stay tuned for more updates as the airline gears up for its inaugural flight!
