Montenegro Ranks Among Europe’s Top Affordable Camping Destinations

UPDATE: New research from the international portal Camping.info reveals that Montenegro is once again one of the most affordable camping destinations in Europe. The Camping Association of Montenegro (KACG) announced this finding, based on an analysis of prices from over 23,000 campsites across the continent.

The average cost for two people camping, which includes a plot, vehicle, electricity, and taxes, is just €15.58. This positions Montenegro as a competitively priced option compared to other European countries, particularly those with well-established camping infrastructures like Croatia and Slovenia, where prices are significantly higher.

Demand for camping in Europe is surging, especially along the Adriatic coast, making these findings particularly relevant for travelers. KACG highlights that the price difference is a major factor attracting more campers to Montenegro, especially those traveling along the Adriatic route.

While Albania and North Macedonia offer lower prices, their limited number of campsites and inconsistent infrastructure make Montenegro a more appealing and reliable choice for many. Travelers appreciate the better price-quality ratio, stability in offerings, and greater availability of camping facilities in Montenegro.

Interestingly, even though Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia have less developed markets, their camping costs are higher than in Montenegro, reinforcing the latter’s competitive position in the region.

KACG emphasizes that campers don’t just spend on accommodation. On average, they allocate a significant portion of their budgets to local products, dining, excursions, and activities during their stay. This economic impact is vital for local communities and contributes to extending the tourism season beyond peak months.

The association believes that analyses like this underscore the importance of enhancing Montenegro’s visibility in the European camping market. Montenegro will be showcased at the CMT fair in Stuttgart, Europe’s largest event dedicated to camping and caravanning. This event attracts many visitors from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and The Netherlands.

As camping tourism continues to grow in Europe, Montenegro has a unique opportunity to solidify its position with its attractive prices, stunning natural environments, and increasingly modern camping offerings.

Travelers seeking a budget-friendly and enriching camping experience should consider Montenegro as their top choice this season.
