URGENT UPDATE: NE Youth, a prominent youth charity in the North East, has just celebrated its 90th anniversary by honoring remarkable young leaders at the 2025 Impact Awards held at The Grand Hotel, Gosforth Park. This prestigious event gathered nearly 400 attendees, including young people, supporters, and sponsors, to recognize the significant contributions made by local youth.
Over the past nine decades, NE Youth has positively impacted the lives of over 1 million young individuals. The atmosphere at the awards ceremony was electric, with talented performers including the MK Diamonds Cheerleaders and Room 14 DofE Band lighting up the stage.
Among the standout winners was Jannah Rahman Rehman, awarded Volunteer of the Year for her exceptional work with Projects4Change, which focuses on youth-led initiatives and offers guidance for young people aged 11 to 19. After receiving her award, Jannah expressed her disbelief, stating, “I’m still shaking. The award made me realize how much work I’ve done and how important youth work is.”
Additionally, Thomas Stoneman from Stepney Bank Stables was recognized as Youth Worker of the Year. The awards not only highlighted individual achievements but also showcased the vital role of youth work in the community during challenging times.
Charity CEO Jon Niblo emphasized the importance of investing in young people, noting, “The Impact Awards showcase the best of what happens when young people are given opportunities to thrive. Times are tough for a lot of people right now, but we need to continue to invest in our young people.”
