BREAKING: The West Coast Main Line has officially reopened following a serious train derailment involving an Avanti West Coast service from Glasgow to London. The incident occurred early Monday morning, when the train “hit a landslide” at a speed of 80 mph in Cumbria, causing significant disruption and safety concerns.
Emergency services responded rapidly after the train derailed at approximately 6:10 AM near the village of Shap. A total of 85 passengers and train staff were successfully evacuated, with four individuals reported to have suffered “minor injuries.”
