URGENT UPDATE: A 53-year-old woman from Hemlington, North Yorkshire has been banned from driving for 30 months after crashing her Range Rover while more than three times over the legal alcohol limit. Andrea Williams was behind the wheel when her vehicle veered off the road and plowed into a row of bushes on the A1044 Low Lane shortly after 9 AM on September 9.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident, but images from the scene depict the Range Rover lodged in shrubbery, highlighting the severity of the crash. Williams admitted to the charge of drink-driving, confessing to operating the vehicle after consuming excessive alcohol, with a blood alcohol level of 283 µg/l—far exceeding the legal limit of 80 mg/100ml.
During a previous hearing at Teesside Magistrates’ Court on October 22, Williams pleaded guilty. Following her admission, District Judge Steven Hood imposed a four-month curfew effective from 7 PM to 7 AM, in addition to the driving ban. She is also required to pay court costs totaling £199.
