Lorna Luxe Mourns Husband John Andrews After Cancer Battle

Social media influencer Lorna Luxe has announced the passing of her husband, John Andrews, after a prolonged battle with cancer. The couple had been together for 16 years, and Lorna shared the heartbreaking news on her Instagram account, revealing that John died on February 6, 2024, at their home.

John had been diagnosed with stage four adrenal cancer in April 2023. Initially, he went into remission but faced a recurrence in 2024, leading to further complications, including spread to the brain. Despite undergoing surgery and treatment, his condition worsened, ultimately rendering further options unviable.

In her emotional post, Lorna expressed profound sorrow: “My beautiful, brave John died yesterday. I am heartbroken. We were together to the very end, at home, in our own bed and holding hands, which is exactly what he wanted.” She highlighted John’s strength and character, recalling their last conversation. “He replied ‘rough but in love,’ choosing to put aside his fears to make me feel cherished and loved.”

Lorna acknowledged the support they received from healthcare professionals, particularly praising the district nurses who assisted them. She specifically mentioned Anna, one of the nurses, as a “real-life angel,” emphasizing the importance of their care during John’s final days.

The couple had openly shared their journey with followers, expressing gratitude for the outpouring of love from friends and fans. In a previous update, Lorna noted the uncertainty surrounding their remaining time together, stating, “We don’t know how long we have, but we’re holding each other tight.”

On February 7, 2024, Lorna shared an image of their bed, reinforcing their bond during this challenging period. She conveyed her appreciation for the supportive messages they received, admitting, “I’ve not been on top of my replies, but I see and read your words to him daily, and they’re so full of love.”

Lorna also revealed that she had to cancel a charity event due to John’s declining health. She emphasized the difficult decision, explaining, “John is currently extremely unwell, and right now it isn’t the right time for me to be away from his side.” The charity event was set to benefit Maggie’s Cancer Care and The Meath Epilepsy Charity, with plans to reschedule once circumstances allowed.

Reflecting on John’s health struggles, Lorna recalled how he faced a serious setback over the Christmas period, battling sepsis after returning from a trip to Italy. She explained, “We’ve been told his cancer has progressed to other organs, so treatment’s no longer an option.” Despite the grim prognosis, Lorna remained hopeful, citing John’s unwavering spirit throughout their marriage.

“One thing about John, in the 16 years we’ve been married, his mindset’s never wavered,” she reflected. “At this point, we’re looking for a bit of a miracle. We can’t lose hope.”

Lorna’s heartfelt tributes and updates resonate with many, capturing the essence of love and resilience in the face of adversity. As she navigates this profound loss, her community continues to rally around her, offering support during this difficult time.
